About the Author

Hey there! I'm Joanie Rich. It's nice to meet you.

By day I'm a mild-mannered game tester for a popular casual gaming company, but when night falls, the computer screen switches on and I become a writing creature of the night!

I've been a storyteller my whole life, growing out of a love of stories in all forms, including theatre, movies, books, and of course listening to the real deal in person. In school I continually wrote stories and even dabbled in some fan fiction. At the university level I studied Creative Writing and Classical 2D Animation. Currently I'm working on my first novel (a zany sci-fi adventure) and getting it ready for publication with a traditional publisher.

When I'm not writing you can find me watching animated movies, playing the latest video games, winning prizes from arcade crane machines, or sharing an extra-large pizza with my friends. My favorite fictional character is a certain blue hedgehog named Sonic. If you like any of these things, we'd probably get along well and you should say hello.

So Why the Name: Nightcrafter?

You're probably asking yourself why someone so happy-go-lucky as me (should you know me in real life) chose such a dark name for my writing blog.

The main reason is that I tend to be a writing creature of the night. I tend to create best late at night when the world is blanketed in darkness and quiet with only a few dim lights and the glowing screen of my computer to guide me. Most of my best ideas and writings come from the late hours of the evening.

Also because, as a writer, I am both a creator and a destroyer. I have the power to create new life and along with that comes the power to snuff it out; something I never take lightly. After all, stories would be boring if everyone got along and no one died.

I dunno if any of these writings will spawn anything bigger than this blog, but you never know what happens when you open the door to your imagination...

... because anything could come out.
